Today (8th January 2021) our staff took part in British Values training delivered by the wonderful Malcolm Smith from UK Parliament. This training was delivered as part of our dedication to our staff’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Many of our staff work closely with learners from all backgrounds and we work hard to implement British Values to all of our learning opportunities. British Values are at the heart of all that we do at Enable and we are proud to be looking into more training opportunities to promote them.

British parliament

Todays’ training course was about how we can educate our learners into the workings of Parliament.

This training spoke about:

  • The benefits of registering to vote
  • The importance of Parliament
  • The difference between the House of Lords and the House of Commons
  • How to contact your local MP
  • and much, much more…

If this training sounds like something you would like your youth organisation to take part in, visit here for more details. Booking forms for this training session are available here.

All of our staff came away having learned something new about our government. We would recommend this course to providers looking for ways to implement British Values into their training courses.

All training was delivered virtually, through Microsoft Teams, and was completely Covid-19 safe. For more information about how Enable is staying safe throughout the pandemic, please visit our dedicated Coronavirus page.
