Lindsey Wheeldon completed a L2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills on the SAIL programme. This is what she had to say:
“My name is Lindsey Wheeldon, I first came across Enable when I attended a jobs fair and spoke to people within the administration sector. This year I completed my level 2 Apprenticeship in Business Administration where I was working for a housing association company and looking for further professional development opportunities. I was still in contact with Tutor from Enable, in which they would ask about my wellbeing and progress. At the time the tutor asked if I wanted to achieve a level 2 in leadership and management short course, this I thought was a brilliant to do as it would give me a chance to continue learning and keep me busy. The leadership course gave me knowledge of styles of
leadership, what it involved. I learnt a lot from understanding team working and what the characteristic and advantage of working in team.
Unfortunately, after this, the company did not keep me on due to the pandemic situation.
However, my tutor then sent me a recommendation to apply for a new job opportunity at Enable for a Contract Administrator, so that led me to write the cover letter and attach my CV. I was invited for interview and was offered the position the next the day.
Working in Enable, my job role will be to ensure all documentation that is required to support delivery, monitoring and reporting is all correct and sent to the relevant person for the AEB and to provide organisations with the support necessary to enable them to comply with all the contract requirements. I will be able to apply the new skills that I have learned on the SAIL programme.”
