Session overview

This interactive session will build on the key findings from the East Midlands Inclusion Framework 2018. The session will provide an opportunity for organisations to consider the benefits of inclusion initiatives from the perspective of organisations, participants and funders.

The session has been designed to appeal to Chief Executives, Senior Managers and Trustees of third sector organisations.  The content will also appeal to practitioners and professionals with an interest in the inclusion agenda across the East Midlands.

Throughout the session we will consider a range of approaches, challenges and solutions in order to develop inclusive practices that underpin projects designed to benefit local communities.


Learning outcomes

The session will be designed to meet the following learning outcomes:

  • Review the definition and concept of inclusion
  • Enable participants to make an assessment of the inclusivity of their organisation
  • Review the East Midlands Inclusion Framework
  • Identify the potential barriers to inclusion activities alongside the most appropriate solutions
  • Enable participants to consider how effective inclusion can support organisational sustainability
  • Identify relationship between evidence and inclusion from the perspective of funders and commissioners



Do I need to have been involved with the development of the East Midlands Inclusion Framework (EMIF) to attend this session?

No.  The session is specifically designed to support organisations think through their approach to inclusion.  Prior understanding of the East Midlands Inclusion Framework is not necessary.


Transport links

The session will be held at Nottingham Voluntary Action Centre postcode NG1 3FB.  The venue is a five minute walk from the Victoria Centre Bus Station and ten minute walk from the Nottingham Trent University Tram stop on Goldsmith Street.  Delegates travelling by car may find it easiest to park at the Forest recreation ground park and ride (postcode NG7 6NX) and use the tram for their onward journey into Nottingham City Centre.

Tea, coffee and water will be available throughout the session.  We recommend you bring your own lunch.

Bookings can be refunded up to 20 days before the date of the event.
