The Education Secretary has announced a £50 million investment to fund high quality work placements for students on technical education programmes from April 2018.

Alongside that announcement, the Department for Education has published new research which it commissioned from Learning and Work Institute and Fair Train.

The evidence being gathered and examined was on current practice in work placements for 16-19 year olds in technical education and how the expansion proposed in the Post-16 Skills Plan can be most effectively implemented.
